Who we are.jpg

AROHA, a vibrant startup launched slightly over a year ago in 2022, is making waves in the tourism sector. Our primary focus is on managing real estate properties tailored for travelers, distinguished by the commercial names TRIBE, ALTEA, BAYAHIBE VILLAGE, and GARDEN.
At AROHA, we go beyond traditional hospitality, aiming to create memorable experiences for our guests. Central to our ethos is the provision of comprehensive information services catering specifically to travelers. Whether it's exploring the hidden gems of a destination or discovering unique cultural insights, AROHA strives to enrich the travel experience.
Notably, our commitment extends beyond hospitality; we are deeply involved in various social projects aimed at supporting and uplifting the local economy. While some of these initiatives are already underway, others are part of our future plans, reflecting our dedication to responsible and sustainable tourism practices.
In essence, AROHA is not just a provider of accommodations; we are curators of immersive journeys, champions of local economies, and contributors to the broader tapestry of travel experiences. Welcome to AROHA, where every stay tells a unique story.

2. General information

2. General information

AROHA is dedicated to providing participants with a transformative experience, inviting them to immerse themselves in the vibrant reality of the Dominican Republic and its rich culture. Our program offers a unique blend of opportunities, including the chance to attend classes, gain professional experience by actively participating in business processes, and explore the diverse facets of Dominican life.
Beyond structured learning and professional growth, participants have the opportunity to forge connections, relish nature, engage in various activities, and actively contribute to social projects intertwined with the local community. At AROHA, we encourage participants to seize this opportunity, making it accessible by aligning with the principles found in common Volunteer or Workawayer programs. What sets our program apart is the assurance of safety, healthcare, transparency, and a clear articulation of terms and content.
From a training perspective, our program goes beyond conventional volunteer agreements. Participants not only engage in valuable work experiences but also have the unique opportunity to access lessons and professional training courses. This is made possible through collaborations with esteemed institutions such as the University of Santo Domingo.
We pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive experience, akin to a single ring that connects participants to various opportunities. Unlike exclusive programs limited by government institutes, such as the Erasmus in Europe, or those offered by private tour operators, our approach is inclusive. While these programs have their merits, they often come with limitations—restricted access and high costs—that may hinder the potential of enthusiastic individuals seeking to broaden their horizons.
In essence, AROHA opens doors to a diverse array of experiences, ensuring that young, promising individuals can access quality training, professional growth, and cultural immersion without unnecessary barriers. We believe in making these enriching opportunities accessible to those with a passion for expanding their horizons.

3. Opportunities and objectives of the program

3. Opportunities and objectives of the program

The primary objectives of our program are centered around providing diverse opportunities for young individuals, with a special focus on ensuring safety, support, and enriching experiences. This commitment arose from our experiences as hosts, particularly since June of this year, when we initiated international travel projects, specifically hosting young volunteers through the well-known online platform, workaway.info.
This venture allowed us to address significant safety concerns for both our organization and the volunteer participants. The absence of regulations and formal agreements placed a heavy responsibility on the platform, prompting us to contemplate the inherent risks associated with hosting unknown individuals without guarantees or security measures in place.
As a response, our program is designed to extend the chance for cost-free travel with mandatory safety assurances. Beyond facilitating affordable travel experiences, we are keen on providing access to a spectrum of professionalizing activities. Our vision encompasses not only the economic aspect but also emphasizes the significance of these key sectors:
First Work Experience: Enabling participants to gain valuable practical experience.
Training: Offering inclusive and high-quality education and training opportunities.
Integration: Fostering an environment where individuals can seamlessly integrate into diverse cultures.
Sport: Recognizing the importance of physical activity and sports in personal and professional development.
These sectors collectively support citizens in their holistic growth, both personally and professionally. Moreover, our commitment to inclusive and quality education, along with informal and non-formal learning, equips participants of all ages with the necessary qualifications and skills. This not only enhances their democratic participation but also promotes intercultural understanding, facilitating a successful transition to the ever-evolving world of work. Our program is not just about travel; it's about empowering individuals for a well-rounded and meaningful engagement with society and the global job market.
